An easy 200 mile ride today got us to Charlotte. The ride through the Smoky Mountains was beautiful, and we managed to avoid the rain — though not the road spray from cars, buses and trucks since the road was wet most of the way through the mountains. We got into Charlotte around 1:30 or so local time, stopped at Wally World for some supplies, checked into the hotel, and Lisa unpacked our gear while I washed the bike & trailer. Right now she’s taking a siesta and I’m going to do the same for a while.
I’m sure it will start raining at some point… just because it usually does. 🙂 Still, we’re here, and made it without major incident. Bike’s running a little rough at idle when it’s hot, I’ll have to look into that at some point.
